At 36%, female fat mass is plainly visible through the abdomen, waist, hips, and thighs. The midsection is convex in profile. Muscle grain is largely hidden. The face and upper arms are full. This is an ordinary adult appearance in many samples. Compared with 33%, the difference is incremental padding in the same places. Compared with 40%, some people still show a slight waist. This page’s examples will not cover every height and muscle combination; they show what a 36% scan has looked like in the posts collected so far. Water and pose still move the photo. The DEXA number remains the filing key. Rear views are dominated by glute and thigh tissue; front views are dominated by the abdomen. Read both when they exist, and read the curator notes for age or height when those were recorded.
