Twenty-four percent body fat in women is a softly athletic, everyday look: a smooth stomach, a defined but not tiny waist, and obvious hip and thigh curves. Abdominal lines are generally absent at rest. Vascularity is not expected. The face is full in a typical way. Glute fat plus glute muscle determines the rear view more than the decimal does. This band appears often in recreational lifters and in active people who do not track a cut. The visual distance from 22% is small. The distance from 30% is a thicker waist and more tissue on the thighs. Shirt-on, 24% is unremarkable. Shirt-off, it reads as a normal trained or semi-trained adult female, not a physique-competitor condition. DEXA still helps because the same silhouette can come from quite different muscle-to-fat ratios.
