At 14%, a male midsection often shows upper-ab shape with a smoother lower abdomen. Some men still present a clear six-pack after a pump; others look more like a faint four-pack. The iliac crest is less sharp. A small pad at the love-handle site is common even in trained men because that region stores fat early on the way up. Vascularity is mostly limited to the arms and sometimes the shoulders. The face looks healthy and defined, not contest-lean. Chest fullness from muscle is easy to see; chest fat is still low. This is a frequent result among men who are active but not in a dedicated cut. It sits near the lean end of what many clinics would call typical for a fit adult male, though clinic averages run higher. Side-by-side with 12%, the extra two points usually show as less shadow between abs and a slightly thicker waistband line in clothes.
